The CJLU-ARU Joint Institute, China Jiliang University (hereinafter “CJU-ARU Joint Institute”), is a Chinese-foreign cooperative educational institution jointly established by China Jiliang University (CJLU) and Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). Approved by the Ministry of Education in December 2025 (Certificate No. MOE33UKA02DNR20252570N), the Institute offers three undergraduate programs in Artificial Intelligence, Automation, and Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, as well as a foreign master’s degree course in Artificial Intelligence.

I. Educational Objectives

The Institute precisely aligns with  China's national strategy on intelligent manufacturing and the demands of Zhejiang “415X” advanced manufacturing industry cluster. By introducing and integrating high-quality educational resources from the UK partner, and adhering to the educational characteristics of internationalization, intelligence, and standardization, it aims to cultivate interdisciplinary emerging engineering talents who are integrated with machinery, control and intelligence. These talents will possess an international vision and innovative competence, and will be adaptable to the high-quality development of the global economy and the sustainable development of human society. The Institute seeks to boost the development of new quality productive forces and the construction of a leading country in manufacturing, and is committed to building itself into a model base for Sino-British cooperation in engineering education.

II. Program Delivery Models

1. Duration and Delivery Model: The undergraduate programs have a duration of 4 years. They are included in the national enrollment plan for regular higher education institutions, strictly follow the national unified enrollment policy, and adopt a “4+0” cooperative education model. The master’s program has a duration of 1.5 years and adopts an independent enrollment “1.5+0” cooperative model. All studies are completed at China Jiliang University.

2. Degree Conferral Requirements: Undergraduate students who complete all the credits stipulated in the jointly developed program curriculum, and meet the graduation requirements and degree conferral conditions, will be awarded an undergraduate graduation certificate and a bachelor’s degree certificate from China Jiliang University, as well as a bachelor’s degree certificate from Anglia Ruskin University. Obtaining the foreign degree certificate does not require a period of overseas study. The foreign degree certificate can be authenticated by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange.

3. Postgraduate students who complete all required course credits, pass the assessments, complete a research project report and pass the oral defense will be awarded the MSc in Artificial Intelligence degree from Anglia Ruskin University. This degree can also be verified and authenticated by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange.

III. Profile of Anglia Ruskin University

Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is a renowned public comprehensive university in the UK, with its history dating back to 1858. Its main campus is located in Cambridge, UK. ARU has five campuses: Cambridge, Chelmsford, Writtle, Peterborough and London. It comprises four faculties: the Faculty of Science and Engineering, the Faculty of Business and Law, the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care, and the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. It offers over 170 undergraduate courses, 100 postgraduate courses, and 40 doctoral courses.
