On June 27, a special guest appeared at the admission consultation event at Hangzhou No.14 High School of Zhejiang — Mark Norrish, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). He visited the on-site consultation frontline in person to lend his official support to the inaugural student recruitment of the CJLU-ARU Joint Institute, China Jiliang University (hereinafter referred to as "the Joint Institute"). The booth was bustling with visitors throughout the day, receiving over 200 inquiries from parents and prospective students in total. As a new institute launching its first enrollment, a key question arises: how to make the high-quality Sino-foreign cooperative education resources visible, trusted and accessible to applicants? The institute’s answer lies in a three-pronged approach: proactive outreach, in-depth on-the-ground engagement, and coordinated online and offline efforts.

Face-to-Face Consultations Led by ARU’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor
Mark Norrish gave parents a vivid introduction to ARU’s educational heritage, cutting-edge disciplinary strengths and "global classroom" philosophy. He highlighted the "4+0" delivery model, under which students complete all four years of study in China and will be awarded degree certificates from both universities upon graduation. The ARU-assigned faculty team, original ARU course modules and project-based practical learning system sparked strong interest among attending parents and students, fostering a lively interactive atmosphere.
The Dean and the Secretary of the General Party Branch of CJLU-ARU Joint Institute, together with Mark Norrish, provided authoritative and detailed responses from both Chinese and UK perspectives to core concerns including admission score requirements, English language proficiency standards, major transfer policies, and pathways for graduates’ further study and employment. These responses effectively addressed common concerns among parents about Sino-foreign cooperative education.

Early, Extensive and In-Depth Promotion Outreach
The institute established a comprehensive promotion matrix from the early stage of its preparation. Online, dedicated staff were assigned to handle the admission consultation hotline, and multiple rounds of promotional posts were released via the university’s official WeChat account and the admission office’s WeChat channel to ensure timely information delivery. On June 24, the institute took part in the live-streamed "2026 Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Promotion Event", which garnered a total of 230,000 online views. Offline, the institute formed recruitment working teams. It set up its booth in advance at the "2nd 2026 Public Service Event on Gaokao Application and Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education", and also held consultation sessions at key provincial high schools including Zhejiang Hangzhou High School, Hangzhou Xuejun High School and The Affiliated High School to Hangzhou Normal University, achieving targeted outreach that shifted from broad coverage to in-depth engagement.
Building on this foundation, the institute further expanded its media communication channels by taking part in the recording of a special program on Zhejiang Television, continuously enhancing its influence and recruitment appeal.
Going forward, the institute will further optimize its admission service procedures and continue to provide Gaokao application guidance and policy consultation for prospective students. Leveraging the premium educational resources of both CJLU and ARU, it will continuously deepen the connotation of joint talent training. Through concrete efforts, the institute aims to build a high-caliber international growth platform for its first cohort of students, laying a solid foundation of quality student intake for its long-term development.
