On March 22, Iain Martin, Vice-Chancellor, Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), led a three-member delegation on a visit to China Jiliang University (CJLU). Lin Jianzhong, Vice Chancellor of China Jiliang University, warmly received the delegation in Room A213, Mingde South Building. Chen Jianguo, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, and Le Wei, Dean of the College of Economics and Management, also attended the meeting. During the talks, both sides presented the basic overview of their respective institutions and reviewed the achievements of bilateral cooperation since its launch, notably the smooth and steady operation of the Sino-foreign Financial Engineering cooperative education program. The two sides expressed a shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in cooperative education programs, student exchanges and talent cultivation. The Sino-foreign Financial Engineering cooperative education program had been highly valued by both universities over the two years since its launch. The core purpose of ARU’s visit was to conduct in-depth discussions on the undergraduate Financial Engineering cooperative education program and explore the potential for cooperation in other fields.

After the meeting, the ARU delegation visited the College of Economics and Management, where they held in-depth exchanges with the college’s leadership and faculty on matters including the further improvement of the Sino-foreign Financial Engineering cooperative education program, faculty research collaboration and joint master’s degree training.

On the afternoon of the same day, the British delegation held a face-to-face exchange with all students enrolled in the Sino-foreign Financial Engineering cooperative program at Lecture Hall T302, Huanyu Building. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the students, and Vice-Chancellor Martin’s excellent opening remarks drew rounds of applause. Afterwards, Huang Zhiying and Zhu Zhixian, two students from the College of Economics and Management, shared their unforgettable experiences from last year’s ARU summer camp entirely in English. During the interactive Q&A session, students posed questions one after another, all of which were answered patiently and thoroughly by Vice-Chancellor Martin. The entire event fulfilled its intended purpose in a lively and relaxed atmosphere.

The visit by Vice-Chancellor Martin has deepened the friendly cooperative relationship between CJLU and ARU, laying a solid foundation for both sides to further pursue substantive research cooperation and talent development initiatives.
