1. Academic Foundation
The programme is built on the Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation programme at China Jiliang University (CJLU). It was included in the Ministry of Education’s “Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program” in 2013, recognized as a Zhejiang Provincial Characteristic Programme in 2014 and again in 2017, approved as a National First‑Class Undergraduate Programme in 2019, and received accreditation from the Ministry of Education’s Engineering Education Accreditation in 2022. The programme benefits from an academic master’s degree programme in the first‑level discipline of Mechanical Engineering and a professional master’s degree programme in Mechanical Engineering. As a disciplinary direction within the first‑level discipline of Mechanical Engineering, the programme leverages the university’s distinctive strengths in metrology, standards, quality, inspection and quarantine. It has cultivated a cohort of high‑quality innovative professionals for the nation’s mechanical engineering sector and quality inspection industry, and provides fundamental theoretical and technical support to the national quality inspection industry in areas such as the design theory and methodology for mechanical equipment and metrological inspection devices.
2. Education Objective
This programme responds to the national development needs in intelligent manufacturing and serves Zhejiang Province’s “415X” Advanced Industrial Cluster Strategy. It aims to equip students with fundamental theories of mechanical engineering science, specialized technologies, engineering practice, and product quality inspection knowledge and skills. Graduates will be capable of engaging in product design and manufacturing, research and development, inspection and control, and production management within mechanical engineering and related fields. The programme develops internationally‑oriented interdisciplinary engineering professionals who possess a global vision, innovative practical abilities, sound professional ethics, and a strong sense of national commitment.
